I finished the game, and although the gameplay was good, I'd like to see a bit more variation. The story looked good but was a bit confusing. What happened to Trevor, and what is Noelle, and where did did these monsters come from? Overall pretty solid game.

I intended for the story to follow Ruby, a mute girl who is unable to defend herself against her bullies. You're introduced to her main bully Noelle and her main defender Trevor. Trevor comforts her and Ruby falls into her own world (we hadn't had time to make a new tile set unfortunately to better represent a different atmosphere). The monsters are just meant to be Ruby's inner demons.
As you play through Trevor is intended to be stronger and then you end up separated from him. Ruby is then forced to learn how to fight her own battles in order to reunite with Trevor and escape. Once she has conquered some of her demons, she is then strong enough to be the bigger person when it comes to her bully, but the world she in isn't real, so neither is that Noelle.
It's then revealed that the final demon is an embodiment of Trevor. Ruby is forced to overcome her reliance on Trevor and become a stronger person. Trevor was in fact never real and only a figment of her imagination to keep herself strong, notice that Noelle never acknowledges him.
I will definitely be working on creating better and more coherent narratives in my future!

This was a cool horror game with a really interesting storyline. Even though I didn't manage to complete the game, it was a really fun game and it had a really intriguing storyline that kept me going throughout the game. It is really rare for a horror game to cover a story about someone who is mute so definitely the main surprise factor forthe game. It would be cool if there was a safe function to the game and voice-acting involved in the game.

Overall, a pretty fun game, aside from some difficult rooms here and there. Whoever did the sprite art did an especially good job 👀
